a2 HOSTING WINDOWS SERVICE UPDATE
On April 22, 2019, A2 hosting team System Monitoring team was alerted to a service interruption involving Windows Hosting services. They immediately began an investigation which required them to take certain client services offline to protect system integrity and fully investigate the event. Through their ongoing investigation, it was determined that ransomware infected certain A2 Windows hosting servers which resulted in encryption of files stored on those servers.
They are working with a leading third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate this event. While they have been able to restore most data impacted by this event, they will continue to work with their cybersecurity firm to explore possible avenues to restore data. They have also reported this event to law enforcement.
